  1. Determine the basis of frequent impact modifier:
  • Flame Test: Place a spatula of the impact modifier on a flame. Observe the tip of spatula, color and odor.

  1. Check the quality:
  • Count Dark Resins: Assess the number of visible contaminations (mainly dark particles) in 50 grams of CPE. These defects can impact the final product’s surface quality.
  • Heat Stability: For applications sensitive to heat stability, formulate a CPE paste by incorporating a plasticizer and heat it on a hot plate indirectly.   • Density and bulk density: According to GB/T 1636-2008. Considering the method and licenses employed, different suppliers may produce with a varying bulk density. The important factor is ensuring consistent results across all batches.
